Ingress: powerbank + train conversion: proposition and process
Project objectives will be identified and a specification established with clearly defined deliverables, costs and timescales for each stage. The deliverables will combine Ingress and Multi Discovery resources with PremiumRailEnergy (PRE) knowledge and know-how.
The programme will be undertaken as two separate work streams, as we expect the decision-making process and timescales will be different and difficult to undertake simultaneously. We propose undertaking the workstreams separately, recombining when completed.
The success of the programme will benefit on a clear vision established during preliminary discussions in advance of stage 1.0 and 1.1.
Preliminaries:
- Establish criteris and issues to be addressed
- Agree roles and responsibilities
- Define market potenitila: locations, operational wants + needs, future export opportunities.
The success of the programme will benefit on a clear vision established during preliminary discussions in advance of stage 1.0 and 1.1.
The process, will define the outputs for a combined battery energy storage system, a battery train, its integration and delivery to a prototype stage. The combined battery energy storage element will be a factory-built 2-4 MWH battery energy storage system. It will be able to power a number of different services, including the recharging of battery trains.
Power for other machines and other revenue opportunities are noted separately. A requirements specification, to be established in stage 1.1, will cover the technical requirements, KPI’s, integration and functionality.
Discussions, will be undertaken with potential manufactures and converters, major system
suppliers, component suppliers and operators. The objective: is to ensure Ingress and Multi Discovery have an opportunity to establish a service solution which meets market expectation and in-house manufacturing resources.
It seems likely the operator (the customer) may request changes or adjustments to the design-scheme in the future, responding to emerging market conditions. The challenge will be to coordinate prime and secondary contractors, within the overall scheme vision of the service.
Our role is defined in these later stages as a watching brief.
